2021 AK SCCA Points Event #7

Alaska Raceway Park

About this event

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the seventh event of the 2021 Autocross season on September 18, 2021 at Alaska Raceway Park in Palmer, AK.  We are eager to share the motorsport of autocross with our fellow Alaskans. This is a precicion driving competition through a course laid out with pylons (traffic cones) giving each entrant as many runs each day that we can fit in, for their best scored time!

DUE TO REGULATIONS AND MANDATES THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO THIS EVENT:

IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU NOT SHARE HELMETS.  THERE ARE LIMITED QUANTITIES OF LOANER HELMETS.

YOU MUST PREREGISTER!  THERE IS NO ON SITE REGISTRATION.

SCCA NATIONAL Guidelines:

  • If you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, masks are no longer required indoors or outdoors UNLESS local regulatory authorities or venues have specific mask requirements in place.
  • If you are not vaccinated, you may still attend and participate in SCCA events. However, in line with the latest CDC guidelines, it is recommended that you continue to wear a mask indoors and when near others. This is subject to any mask requirements by local regulatory authorities and/or venue management.
  • When in doubt, all event organizers should continue to “look local” to ensure we meet any and all local COVID-19 protocol requirements.
  • Regardless of any national or local directives, all individuals remain free to wear a mask in any setting at any SCCA event, should they choose to.

Notice to Participants: In light of the current health related events, every attempt will be made to minimize the risks to our competitors. New processes and procedures are being developed and will be put into place for events going forward.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to assess the risk to you, both on-track and off, and to make the decision on whether or not to participate. If you are feeling unwell or are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath please stay home.

While on site please take the health and safety of your fellow participants, volunteers and staff into consideration.

REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES

Entry fees are $45 for SCCA Members for the event. SCCA offers a Weekend Membership, for those new to the sport, of $15 which will be on top of the $45 entry fee. A Weekend Membership fee makes you an SCCA Weekend Member and will give you a $15 discount towards a full SCCA membership, a copy of SportsCar (our national magazine), and is valid for all SCCA-sanctioned events held during that weekend.  If you are a new full member of the SCCA, your $45 entry fee will be waived.

Minor Waivers: If under 18-years-of-age, competitors will need a Minor Waiver signed by their parents (or legal guardians) infront of a current SCCA member or notarized and presented prior to competition. CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS
The Region utilizes the 2021 SCCA National Solo Rules classifications.

For 2021, the Region will have four Classes: Novice for those new to the sport, Open is our intermediate class for those Region competitors looking for fun with some competition, Expert which is the "Deep End Of The Pool," with very stiff competition, and Ladies can run in any of the three classes as well as the Ladies class.  All of these classes are better explained in the 2021 Autocross Supplemental Rules and can be found on the Region Website at www.alaskascca.org.

Each competitor will be required to use the Tech Sheet to self inspect their vehicle following Registration and return Tech Sheet to registration area. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet.

The Region will be enforcing a sound limit rule to ensure that we are able to continue to enjoy our sport.  The details are outlined in Appendix I of the 2021 National Rules.  Bottom line is sound level readings will be taken at a location on the edge of the courses and competitors who exceed the maximum sound level will be given the opportunity to make repairs to meet the acceptable sound level.  If on subsequent runs the competitor does not meet the acceptable level, they will not be allowed to continue to compete.
