Cal Club SCCA Autocross is excited to announce we'll be continuing our 2023 season with a full weekend Test-n-Tune and Champ Day July 8-9, 2023 at Storm Stadium in Lake Elsinore, CA.  

We'll be running a Test-n-Tune practice day on Saturday and our typical Champ Day autocross event Sunday. You can sign up for either the Saturday practice, the Champ Day competition, or both (with a discounted price for participating in both).

Autocross, aka Solo, is a timed competition that challenges drivers to a course marked by cones laid out on an asphalt parking lot or a concrete aircraft runway. Safety is emphasized because cars enter the course one at a time and are spaced out to minimize risks to competitors and event workers. A key emphasis is placed on handling and car control, which breeds some of the most intense competition down to the hundredth or thousandth of a second! Learn more about us at solo2.com.

Cal Club Autocross is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). The event open to all SCCA members. If you’re not an SCCA member, do not worry. During the online registration process, you can buy a weekend membership (and that fee can be applied towards an annual membership should you decide to join later!).

Saturday Test-n-Tune Practice Autocross Event— July 8, 2023

• 12 (or more if we have time) timed runs are included with your registration
• One work assignment is required for each driving session.
• While the club provides water and snacks, still a good idea to bring some of your own.
• No overnight camping allowed
• If you bring an EZ-up, you must have 50 pounds of ballast at each corner

Schedule (subject to change depending on turnout) 

• 7:00 am—Registration/tech open, course open for walking 
• 8:00 am—Guided course walk
  • *Novices and 1st Timers PLEASE READ* Mandatory for all drivers with less than 5 autocross events (with any club):
    • please watch this short 5 minute Orientation Video;
    • make sure you have done at least ONE course walk (attend the guided course walks); and
    • attend the Driver's meeting.
• 8:30 am—Course closes for walking
• 8:40 am—Mandatory driver's/Safety meeting
• 8:30 am—Registration/tech close
• 8:55 am—First group workers check in/cars to grid
• 9:00 am - Run groups begin
• There will be a lunch break and all drivers will have a scheduled rest session that adjoins the lunch break (so you'll have 90 minutes to head out and grab a bite!).

Sunday Champ Day Autocross Event— July 9, 2023

Please don't let the "competition" part of our events intimidate you.  Our competition days are novice friendly and great fun for all.  It's the same great autocross challenge and fun, the only difference on Champ Day is: we keep score.  We have free instruction and guided course walks available to help you get into the game quickly!

Fees (Champ Day fees are fully refundable should you not attend the event)

• Online Pre-Registration 
  • Adult Champ Day competition only: $55
  • Saturday Test-n-Tune Practice only: $90
    • Split Test-n-Tune Practice entry (two drivers splitting a single entry): $105
  • Full Weekend Entry (includes Saturday Practice and Champ Day): $125 (add $15 for a Saturday Split)
  • Student entries will receive a $10 discount.
  • Late or on site registration will be charged an additional $10 fee and subject to availability.
  • X-Runs (Extra set of 4 runs with no additional work!) —$30 <- Subject to availability and only available on-site during registration. No online pre-registration for x-runs. 
• An SCCA membership is required
  • If you're not an SCCA member, you will need a weekend membership for $15 during the checkout process. This membership is good for the entire weekend. Your first two weekend membership can also go towards an annual SCCA membership should you decide to join later! Some restrictions do apply. How and What to Register For

You may register online for a discounted fee, or you may register on-site at the event for a higher fee. For the Champ Day segment, you can register in a class based upon your car and modifications, or you can register to run Time Only (if you register TO, you will not be able to choose when you run/work). A work assignment is required. 

An extra set of 4 runs (called X-runs) may be available on-site for $30 (no additional work is required when you purchase X-runs). Your normal runs (in class or Time Only) must be purchased and completed prior to taking X-runs. X-Runs may be taken in the same group as your normal runs, but the group you take your X-runs in is based on first come-first serve during check-in at the event.  

Annual Number holders receive early registration email for all events. 

Note: Once on the practice entry list, your credit card will be charged unless your cancelation is received by Wednesday midnight, prior to the event. There will be no refunds or credits after that time.  We sell out, we're holding that spot for you.

Weekend Details

When you arrive

• Sign the event waiver at our entrance gate
• Register and Tech your car 
• Walk course (there will be no parade laps, this is your only chance to see the course before you run)

Take the 15 freeway to Lake Elsinore.  Exit on Diamond Drive/Railroad Canyon Road(Exit 73).  Take Diamond Drive/Railroad Canyon Road south (which turns into Diamond Drive).  In .6 miles turn right onto Malaga Road.  (Google Map Link)
